This document provides the minimum requirements that reusable hygienic masks shall meet, both for adults and for children, mainly in terms of the materials used for their preparation, manufacture, marking and use, following the premises and recommendations established by the competent authorities that are members of the working group that has prepared this specification, based on the current scenario in which the SARS-CoV-2 infection develops and on the information available at the date of publication of the Specification. The requirements included in this document may be modified if the epidemiological situation so requires. This specification does not apply to surgical masks that shall comply with the UNE EN 14683: 2019 + AC: 2019 Standard, nor to filtering half-masks for protection against particles that shall comply with the UNE-EN 149: 2001 + A1: 2010 Standard. The hygienic mask is intended for adults and children from 3 years of age with no symptoms that are not susceptible to using surgical masks or filter masks for protection against particles, according to the measures established in the technical document "Prevention and control of infection in the management of patients with COVID-19 published by the Ministry of Health. NOTE Adult supervision should be provided during donning, use and removal of these hygienic masks.
