It is also directly focused on helping professionals and organisations to start their own productivity improvement journey. The reference model aims to expand the market and encourage the proliferation of mature, integrated management systems. The reference model for IT productivity is positioned as a base architecture that allows others to generate their own working systems aimed at improving productivity. It is not intended to compete as a market model, but to be a reference for the creation of productivity models. The scope of application of this technical specification is in the areas of information technology (IT), for all types and sizes of organisations. As it is about improving productivity or work efficiency, the recommendations are clearly applicable to any sector and to any area of organisations beyond IT.
