This International Standard is applicable to the determination of mechanical properties of metallic materials at room temperature within the strain rate range from 10²s⁻¹to 10⁴s⁻¹, which are applied for the investigation of high strain rate problems such as vehicle collision, high speed forming and cutting based on finite element analysis in automotive, mechanical manufacture and aviation industries, etc.
