DESCRIPTION

BS 3529:1962

This standard BS 3529:1962 Specification for dimensions of flywheel housing mounting pads and brackets for i.c. engines is classified in these ICS categories:
  • 27.020 Internal combustion engines

Section 1 of this standard specifies mounting pad face dimensions and pad location dimensions with respect to horizontal and vertical centre lines of vertical pads located above and below the flywheel horizontal centre line (“high” and “low” pads) for the rear end mounting of i.c. engines with or without the use of the brackets specified in Section 2. It also specifies diameters and location dimensions of tapped holes in these pads.

Section 2 of this standard specifies certain dimensions of brackets designated B1, B2 and B3, which, when secured to the mounting pads specified in Section 1, Clauses 2 and 3, form engine support arms.

It is recommended that if these brackets can be used with pads in other locations as outlined in Clause 5, the requirements of Section 1 of this standard be adopted wherever possible.

Mounting pad face and pad location dimensions with respect to horizontal and vertical centre lines of vertical pads located above and below the flywheel horizontal centre line ('high' and 'low' pads). Diameters, location dimensions of tapped holes. Dimensions of brackets which, secured to mounting pads, form engine support arms.
