The purpose of this standard is to specify the calculation assumptions to be considered for any supporting and anchoring element used in vertical signalling. This standard is applicable to: gantries and banners with a gauge > 5,25 m; beams or structures supporting lateral signs with a 1,5 m clearance; poles supporting one-piece signs with a clearance of 0,7 m. Any other type of supporting element must be assimilated to the closest case of the above. The characteristics of the materials to be used in the manufacture of permanent or temporary vertical sign posts and banners are included, i.e. hot-rolled steel sections, hot-rolled sheet or coil, extruded aluminium sections, aluminium sheet and the corresponding screws and anchorages.
