This standard or protocol describes the general requirements for installation commissioners and maintenance of SHEVS. In the particular case of multi-storey buildings with stairways in which differential pressurisation or pressurisation of the stairways is designed to prevent flooding by smoke in the event of fire, the protocol provided for in Standard UNE-EN 12101-6 shall be used as a preference, and this protocol (UNE 23584) shall only be used in those aspects not provided for in the preferred standard. This standard or protocol describes the general requirements to be met by the installation, the requirements to be met by the components that form part of the installation, the installation assembly process, the requirements for the handover and start-up of the installation and the maintenance requirements.
