This standard specifies the composition, microstructure, physical properties and mechanical properties required for sintered materials to be used in plain bearings. The information provided by this standard is generally sufficient for most current uses. However, in special cases the manufacturer and the user can establish by agreement new specifications, which are not subject to this standard.
