This document provides the minimum requirements that hygienic masks for children shall meet, mainly in terms of the materials used for their preparation, manufacture, marking and use. This specification does not apply to surgical masks that shall comply with the UNE EN 14683: 2019 + AC: 2019 Standard, nor to filtering half-masks for protection against particles that shall comply with the UNE-EN 149: 2001 + A1: 2010 Standard. The hygienic mask is intended for children, aged between 3 years and 12 years, without symptoms that are not likely to use surgical masks or filter masks for protection against particles, according to the measures established in the technical document "Prevention and control of infection in the management of patients with COVD-19 published by the Ministry of Health. Children over 12 years of age shall use hygienic masks that follow the UNE 0064-1: 2020 Specification.. NOTE Adult supervision should be provided during donning, use and removal of these hygienic masks.
