This standard specifies the requirements of a sustainability management system for organizations producing iron and steel products. The aim of this iron and steel sustainability management system is to enable these organizations to develop and implement a sustainability policy and objectives which take into account legal or other requirements subscribed by the organization and the information concerning their performance in the economic, social and environmental fields, which are the three facets of sustainability. It is applicable to the aspects of sustainability that the organization can control or influence.
