This standard specifies the structural design requirements applicable to all clad rack storage systems, fabricated from steel members, intended for the storage of unit loads and subject to static storage loads, environment loads and dynamic loads due to machinery moving inside the installation. This standard gives the guidelines for the design of rack-clad storage systems, where the requirements are not specified in the EAE (Structural Steel Instruction) mandatory for buildings and UNE-EN 1993. The requirements of this standard also apply in the design of installation in which the components of the rack are used as support for the structure.
