UNE 68113:2019

This standard establishes the minimum requirements for the design, evaluation and acceptance of the deployment of automatic protection structures with pyrotechnic drive systems, from their retracted position to their unfolded position, placed in a self-propelled agricultural machinery with a driving position.This standard does not apply to machinery covered by other rollover protection standards such as agricultural and forestry tractors, self-propelled work equipment for grassland maintenance and greenfield construction machinery. This standard does not contemplate the evaluation or testing of the structure deployed. This standard does not contemplate the risks associated with road transport, nor those due to free fall or overturning caused by a range collision. This standard does not include evaluation or testing of automatic overturn protection structures with mechanical or hydraulic drive systems. No specification or validation of additional requirements of protection structures, such as visibility, ergonomic requirements, etc. are not covered by this standard. All additional requirements shall be considered by the manufacturer of the AD-ROPS machine or system during the design phase and validated in accordance with applicable standards. The standard EN-ISO 4254-1 establishes the general safety requirements and their verification for the design and construction of self-propelled machines with driving positions used in agriculture. In relation to stability, it establishes the need to apply the principles of stability assessment indicated in the standard EN-ISO 16231-1. The standard EN-ISO 16231-1, indicates the need to carry out a risk assessment of the machine to determine the risk of overturning the machine. If the assessment determines a need to reduce the risk of overturning, protection measures must be taken, including the possibility of equipping a protection structure with automatic overturning. This standard aims to cover the validation of the deployment of these structures.
