The purpose of this standard is to define the basic characteristics of the materials to be used and to establish the criteria to be taken into account for the design of roofs in which corrugated or ribbed fibre-reinforced concrete slabs are used, including slabs with built-in insulation in accordance with Standards UNE-EN 494 and UNE 88113. It also establishes the recommendations for the transport, handling and storage of the materials. Finally, it indicates the conditions of use and maintenance of the roofs in order to ensure their durability. This standard is applicable to work carried out on roofs of all types of buildings in which corrugated or ribbed fibre-reinforced concrete slabs are used, and in which the slabs themselves provide the watertightness. For altitudes above 1200 m, and in special or exceptional cases, it is up to the designer or the project manager to establish additional instructions to this standard (e.g. use of special fixings, protection against powdery snow, etc.).
