Liquid transfer operations during which there is a risk of ignition or explosion due to the presence of flammable mixtures of vapors or gases with air are considered within the scope of this document. Both fixed and mobile containers of any capacity, such as buckets, drums, IBCs, trucks and tank wagons, are considered within the scope. Operations that cause electrostatic hazards include filling, transportation (of the container and its contents), emptying, grading, and sampling.
