The purpose of this standard is to establish the chemical, mechanical, geometric and weight characteristics of weldable corrugated or grooved steel wires used for reinforcing concrete structures and supplied as end products in straight or coiled form. It does not apply to other products used for reinforcing concrete, such as: - Weldable steel bars with special ductility characteristics (UNE 36065). - Weldable steel bars (UNE 36068). - Wires and strands for prestressed steel reinforcement (UNE 36094). - Smooth wires (UNE 36731). - Electro-welded mesh (UNE 36092 and UNE 36061). - Electro-welded mesh with high ductility characteristics (UNE 36060). - Basic reinforcement (UNE 36739). - Galvanised steel. - Epoxy resin-coated steel. - Corrosion-resistant Steel.. This standard does not apply to distribution reinforcement.
