This standard specifies the use of wood penetrometer for the diagnostic of elements in existing buildings by comparative method. It is considered a semi-destructive test method, supplementary of the visual inspection of the service structure and the use of other methods of non-destructive testing. It is applicable for the rapid diagnosis of wooden structures in service in existing buildings.
