This document specifies the requirements of lubricants intended for lubrication of the wheel-rail interface between the wheel and the rail (active interface) applied either directly or indirectly to the wheel or to the rail. It outlines the information required for most approval procedures, the method of testing and routine control/monitoring of the lubricant.
