This International Standard specifies general requirements for the competence of reference material (RM) producers. This International Standard has been drawn up to promote confidence in reference material producers (RMP) and in the development and implementation of their management system for quality. This International Standard sets out the requirements in accordance with which reference materials shall be produced. It is intended to be used as part of a reference material producer's general quality assurance procedures. This International Standard covers the production of all reference materials. NOTE The term customer refers to any user who receives a reference material regardless of whether it is paid for or not.
